Horse Training

I am available to train your horse or pony at Squirrels Nest Farm LLC or at your home or barn.

I specialize in:
-
Starting, training, re-training OTTB's, young, green or difficult horses.
-
Laying the proper foundation for upper level work for either dressage or jumping.
-
Preparing horses to be sold including sales video and promotion.
-
Tuning up the seasoned horse. By using stretching and balance exercises they become lighter on the aids and easier to ride.
If started correctly most horses should be able to do a little bit of everything whether it is:
-
Dressage
-
Show jumping
-
Cross Country Jumping
-
Endurance or Trail Riding
I use a step by step, repetitive, "building block" approach. I introduce new concepts only when the horse is relaxed and understands the previous concept. This method develops a relationship of understanding and trust which in turn creates a confident and happy horse.
Some horses, either due to their conformation or psychological reasons, may not want or be able to do the job you've chosen for them. Those horses have a job they want to excel at, it's a matter of finding out what that job happens to be.
